About SoCalSEA
Southern California Special Education Administrators (SoCalSEA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit professional organization dedicated to supporting and advancing special education leadership throughout Southern California. Formerly known as the Los Angeles County Administrators of Special Education (LACASE), the organization adopted its new name to reflect its expanding regional presence and broader commitment to serving special education administrators across Southern California.
SoCalSEA provides high-quality professional development, leadership training, networking opportunities, advocacy, and collaborative resources to strengthen the capacity of special education leaders and improve outcomes for students with disabilities.
While SoCalSEA's primary focus is regional leadership development and advocacy, the organization works collaboratively with local, regional, and statewide partners to advance special education throughout California. These partnerships include the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE), the Greater Los Angeles Area SELPAs (GLAAS), the SELPA Administrators of California, and other educational organizations dedicated to supporting Special Education Local Plan Areas (SELPAs), promoting best practices, and advocating for students with disabilities and the professionals who serve them.
